Quick and simple experiment!
Fill a cup up with snow. Do not pack it down.
Take a guess on how much water will be in the the cup when it melts, and write that volume down.
Mark on the cup where you think the high water line of the water will be.
Set the cup in the room and wait for it to melt.
How can you speed the melting process up? (using your hands around the cup, hairdryer, hot air vents)
After it melts, look and see if it reached your line.
Were you correct?
